PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY ASTRONOMY DEPARTMENT, UNIVERSITY PARK, PENNSYLVANIA 16802
Abstract
This is a catalog of earthquakes for the United States, east of the Rocky Mountains, before the year 1850. Data are listed for the Northeast, East, and Central U.S. along with a chronological summary. Gregorian dates, local times, and Modified Mercalli intensities are used. Because of the large number of entries and the great complexity of many of the entries, only references are given rather than quotations of the earthquake descriptions.
