Abstract
The theoretical model of a source described in this paper is obtained by combining three unequal couples without moment; further, each couple is combined with a simple force, the intensity of which is also dependent on the direction in which this force is acting.
This model attempts to explain not only the process of explosion radiation of both P- and S-wave types, but also the co-occurrence of both the anaseismic (compressions) and the kataseismic (dilatations) motions in the P wave.
In the last part of this paper, a few examples of large underground explosions are given, which have a mechanism that may be satisfactorily explained by means of the theoretical model presented in this paper.
