Abstract

For the purpose of modeling the process noticed by Kim and Kisslinger (1967) regarding the generation of the two wave types (P and S) by underground explosions produced in spherical cavities, a generalization of Sharpe's (1942) and Blake's (1952) solution is made in this paper.

The expression for the transfer function of the source has been established. By means of this function, two electronic models for the simulation of underground explosions generating longitudinal and transverse waves have been designed.
