The reflection of Rayleigh waves in a wedge caused by a high-impedance obstacle on one face

DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED MATHEMATICS AND THEORETICAL PHYSICS UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE, CAMBRIDGE, England

Abstract

The reflection of Rayleigh waves traveling on one face of an elastic wedge because of a rigid obstacle in shearless contact with the other face is calculated. The solution is based on a related wedge problem with both faces stress-free. The present results concern wedge angles less than 90°.
