Focal mechanisms of Indian earthquakes

Abstract

Focal mechanism solutions are presented for two earthquakes that occurred in peninsular India. The first motions of P, PKP and the polarization (or first motions) of S waves were used for this investigation. Both of these mechanisms are found to be associated with strike-slip faulting.
