Abstract
An optimum numerical method for calculating the pseudo-relative velocity response spectra for digitized seismic acceleration records is developed.
The method is optimal in that given a specified tolerance, one of a class of computational formulae is selected to minimize computational time. This technique is believed to be faster than all other procedures known currently for obtaining the pseudo-relative velocity response spectra and the general approach is applicable to other processes which are based on the solution to a given differential equation.
