A rapid method for calibrating Willmore seismographs

K. G. BARR

UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES, ST. AUGUSTINE, TRINIDAD

Abstract

A method is described for calibrating Willmore seismographs. It could be applied to any other electromagnetic seismograph having a galvanometer period substantially shorter than the seismometer period. The method is rapid and involves very little equipment. An overall accuracy of 20% in the velocity sensitivity is easily attainable.
